Artist Story

Story:
Judy is a recognised artist specialising in water-colour paintings and etchings of Australian flora and landscape. This passion emanates from a lifetime of living and travelling in the Australian outback; which focuses largely in her work. Judy's artwork is displayed in both corporate and private collections throughout Australia, Japan, USA and UK.

Judy has been highly praised for presenting an opportunity for international visitors to have an understanding of the incredible beauty of the "outback" of Australia. It's vast distances and loneliness often leading to despair. These scenes are authentic and the result of Judy spending time doing aerial mustering of cattle and millions of feral goats, in the northern areas of Western Australia and the Northern Territory.
International art critics commented that they felt they were actually walking through the scenes and experiencing the lonliness and the hardship.

Judy's water colour artworks of Australian wildflowers again are a true representation in a botanical form . She has received international recognition for these and again giving visitors to Australia the chance to view the beauty of nature.

Judy also brings her artistic talents to the fashion industry. A passionate designer with a demonstrated track record. From an original interest in art and design Judy was a draftsperson and cartographer while enlisted with the Australian Army.

From this diverse skills-base Judy was selected in 1999 as Artist-in-Residence for an international resort in Queensland. Vistors from around the world would observe the works in progress and purchase as an investment. At this time Judy also began her own clothing label and today markets the label GeorgieJ.

Fine art along with fashion is and will always be Judy's passion. Her philosophy remains focused clearly on elegant lines, flowing designs and the timeless beauty that is nature.

Judy is particularly excited about modern technology and the new opportunity to present her artwork to new designers and manufacturers for inclusion in their product lines. She envisages many of her designs being used in the production of fabrics, as embellishments for soft furnishings, as prints both in fashion and in the traditional art formats.

'My legacy is my art, forever there will be a record of my love of Australia and my artistic talents and for that I am truly grateful' Judy LaMonde 2011
